Sub-Center for Biology (SCB), one of the five disciplinary sub-centers of CERN, officially established in 1993, affiliated in Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences (IB-CAS). SCB-CERN is responsible for the data quality control of biological monitoring in terrestrial ecosystems and the data integration, which are defined to:
1) develop standard, including formulation of observing index and protocols, as well as data protocols;
2) control data quality through a series of activities, including technicians training, monitoring supervision, instrumental analysis of key parameters, data examination and assessment etc.;
3) conduct data integration and management, including data collection, database development, data sharing, and data synthetic analysis;
4) implement synthesis studies on ecosystem structure and function at local or national scales.
